ARIZONA: February 29, 2020 - For the interment of White Mountain Apache Police Officer David Kellywood
Governor Doug Ducey has ordered flags at all state buildings be lowered to half-staff from sunrise to sunset tomorrow, February 29, 2020, for the interment of White Mountain Apache Police Officer David Kellywood. Officer Kellywood was killed in the line of duty while responding to a report of gunshots fired south of Pinetop-Lakeside, Arizona.
Officer Kellywood joined the department nine months ago after graduating from the police academy. Born in McNary, Arizona, Officer Kellywood was a member of the White Mountain Apache Tribe.
Businesses and individuals are encouraged to join in this tribute.

NEW HAMPSHIRE: February 29, 2020 - In honor of Captain Ryan S. Phaneuf
Governor Chris Sununu has directed flags to be flown at half-staff on Saturday, February 29th, in memory of Captain Ryan S. Phaneuf of Hudson, New Hampshire, who was killed in a plane crash on Monday, January 27, while serving in Afghanistan.
“Captain Phaneuf made the ultimate sacrifice so that we may continue to live freely,” said Governor Chris Sununu. “Captain Phaneuf was an American Hero, and the State of New Hampshire will always be grateful for his service. It is my distinct honor to present Captain Phaneuf’s family with the New Hampshire Medal of Honor as an enduring symbol of Captain Phaneuf’s heroism, courage, and sacrifice.”
Governor Sununu will present the New Hampshire Medal of Honor to Captain Phaneuf’s parents and wife at his memorial services on Saturday, February 29, in Hudson, New Hampshire. Governor Sununu signed Senate Joint Resolution 2 on February 13, awarding the New Hampshire Medal of Honor to Captain Phaneuf. Per statute, “The governor shall present the New Hampshire medal of honor awarded under this section to the family members of the recipient.”
INDIANA: February 28, 2020 - In honor of former state representative Richard Dodge
INDIANAPOLIS – Governor Eric J. Holcomb is directing flags in Steuben County to be flown at half-staff to honor former state representative Richard Dodge. Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on the day of his funeral, Friday, February 28. Gov. Holcomb also asks businesses and residents in Steuben County to lower their flags to half-staff on Friday to honor former state representative Dodge and his service.
WISCONSIN: February 27, 2020 - In honor of the victims of the mass shooting at the Molson Coors campus in Milwaukee.
Gov. Tony Evers today ordered the flags of the United States and the state of Wisconsin to be flown at half-staff, beginning immediately and ending at sunset on Thursday, February 27, in honor of the victims of the mass shooting at the Molson Coors campus in Milwaukee.
INDIANA: February 22, 2020 - In honor of former state representative Nicholas Gulling
Governor Eric J. Holcomb is directing flags in Hancock County to be flown at half-staff to honor former state representative Nicholas Gulling. Flags should be flown at half-staff from sunrise to sunset on the day of his funeral, Saturday, February 22. Gov. Holcomb also asks businesses and residents in Hancock County to lower their flags to half-staff on Saturday to honor former state representative Gulling and his service.
NEW MEXICO: February 21, 2020 - In honor of SFC Antonio Rey Rodriguez
Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham has ordered all U.S. and state flags to fly at half staff on Friday, Feb. 21, in honor of SFC Antonio Rey Rodriguez, the Las Cruces soldier who was killed in the line of duty in eastern Afghanistan’s Nangarhar province. Rodriguez and SFC Javier Jaguar Gutierrez of San Antonio, Texas, were killed earlier this month in Afghanistan.
“Our entire state grieves the loss of this young New Mexican who, at age 28, had already distinguished himself as a soldier through 10 deployments in support of Operation Freedom’s Sentinel in Afghanistan,” Gov. Lujan Grisham said. “My prayers remain with his wife, his parents and all who loved him. His service to our country will be remembered.” A rosary will be held at 7 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 20, at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Heart of Mary in Las Cruces. The funeral Mass will begin at noon Friday, Feb. 21, at the same location. Interment will be at Arlington National Cemetery on March 3.
NORTH CAROLINA: February 19 to 21, 2020 - In honor of NC House of Representative Linda Johnson
Governor Roy Cooper today ordered all United States and North Carolina flags at state facilities to remain at half-staff until sunset on Friday, February 21, 2020 in honor of NC House of Representative Linda Johnson, who passed away on Tuesday. A representative for Cabarrus County, Rep. Johnson served in the North Carolina's House of Representatives for more than a decade. Last year, she served as a senior appropriations chair. She was also co-chair of the joint education oversight committee.

NORTH CAROLINA: February 17 to 19, 2020 - In honor of former North Carolina Lt. Governor Jordan
Governor Roy Cooper today ordered all United States and North Carolina flags at state facilities to be lowered to half-staff beginning Monday, February 17, 2020 until sunset on Wednesday, February 19, 2020 in honor of former North Carolina Lt. Governor Robert "Bob" Jordan, who passed away on Sunday.
In 1984, Jordan was elected lieutenant governor, serving from 1985 to 1988. Prior to his role as lieutenant governor, Jordan served as a state senator from 1976 to 1984. A service celebrating Jordan's life will be held on Wednesday, February 19 at the West Montgomery High School Auditorium in Mt. Gilead, North Carolina. Statement from Governor Roy Cooper: "Today we lost a great North Carolinian with the passing of my friend and former Lt. Governor Bob Jordan. He was passionate about education and made a real difference helping people from all walks of life. Our prayers are with his entire family, especially his wife Sarah and his granddaughter Cole." COLORADO: February 17, 2020 - In honor of Firefighter Dan Moran
Gov. Polis has ordered flags lowered to half staff on all public buildings statewide from sunrise to sunset on Monday, Feb. 17, 2020, to honor the passing of West Metro Firefighter and Paramedic, Dan Moran. Moran passed away on Friday, Feb, 7, 2020 at the age of 50 after a battle with cancer. Moran’s passing is considered a line-of-duty death as the illness was job-related. He is survived by his wife Jenn, and two daughters, Taylor and Madyson. Moran’s service will be held Monday, Feb. 17, 2020.
NEW YORK: February 14, 2020 - In honor of Spc. Branden Tyme Kimball
GOVERNOR CUOMO DIRECTS FLAGS AT HALF-STAFF FOR FALLEN SOLDIER Governor Andrew M. Cuomo today directed flags on state government buildings to be flown at half-staff on Friday, February 14 in honor of Spc. Branden Tyme Kimball, a Fort Drum Soldier who died in Afghanistan on Wednesday.
Spc. Kimball, age 21, died in a non-combat related incident at Bagram Airfield, Afghanistan. The incident is under investigation. "On behalf of all New Yorkers, I extend our deepest sympathy to Spc. Branden Kimball's loved ones," Governor Cuomo said. "We are devastated by his loss and join his fellow soldiers, his family, and his friends in honoring his service to our nation. His death is a reminder of the sacrifices members of the military make to protect the freedoms and the values that this state and this nation were founded upon." Kimball was assigned to the 3rd Battalion, 10th Aviation Regiment of the 10th Mountain Division's 10th Combat Aviation Brigade. He was from Central Point, Oregon.
Governor Cuomo has directed that the flags on all State buildings be lowered to half-staff in honor of and in tribute to New York service members and those stationed in New York who are killed in action or die in a combat zone.
NEVADA: February 14, 2020 - In Honor of Mayor Bob Cashell

Gutierrez, who was born in Jacksonville, North Carolina, was stationed at Fort Bragg before his assignment to the 3rd Battalion, 7th Special Forces Group at Eglin Air Force Base in Florida.

TEXAS: February 2, 2020 until Day of Interment - In honor of Police Officer Allan McCollum
The Texas flag is at half-staff regionally in the city of Corpus Christi.
Dear Mayor McComb: In response to your request and pursuant to Chapter 3100 of the Texas Government Code and Title 4 of the U.S. Code (4 U.S.C. § 1 et seq), flags of the State of Texas and the United States of America in the City of Corpus Christi may be lowered immediately to half-staff in honor of the life and public service of Corpus Christi Police Officer Alan McCollum who was killed in the line of duty during a routine traffic stop.
Flags may remain at half-staff until the end of the day of his final interment. Flags should return to full-staff the following day. Other cities, counties, and political subdivisions may also lower flags during the same period of time.
The first lady and I extend our prayers of comfort to the McCollum family during their time of grief.
